What is the Brava Appliance
The Brava appliance is the next generation in orthodontics, not only in aesthetics but also in tooth movement. It is neither an aligner nor braces.
The Brava appliance is lightweight, flexible, and sits below and behind the teeth. Each tooth is moved by an independent arm, and the treatment proceeds without any outward sign. Your smile is never compromised, and treatment is fast and effective. The position of the appliance, with no wire to preclude flossing, also means full hygiene access without the removal of an aligner or wire.
As with Invisalign and braces, tooth movement using the Brava appliance is specified by Dr. Wong in detail from the beginning to the end of treatment.
The Brava Appliance versus Invisalign Aligners
Unlike Invisalign, the Brava appliance is completely invisible, with no covering or attachments on the front of the teeth, and it provides greater flexibility in tooth movement because each tooth is relocated independently according to Dr. Wong’s comprehensive treatment plan. The result is a substantially reduced treatment time.
Cost and Insurance Coverage of Treatment with Brava
The cost of a specific orthodontic treatment depends upon its complexity and expected length and is similar across the various appliances that Dr. Wong employs, including Brava. Cost differences amongst appliances (braces, Invisalign aligners, Brava) are due primarily to differences in material and laboratory fees associated with each appliance type and the relative efficiency of each appliance for a particular case. During your or your child’s comprehensive complimentary examination, the treatment coordinator will communicate treatment costs associated with the appliances recommended by Dr. Wong for your or your child’s unique treatment needs and goals.
