Beautiful Faces: Introduction
On this page, you’ll find a small sampling of our Orthodontics work. When selecting a case for viewing, you will be presented with several images, including the post-treatment patient portrait and up-close “before and after” shots of the occlusion. Take a close look. You will see some dramatic changes. These results were accomplished using a variety of methods—appropriate to each patient—which are described, in brief, below the photographs.

Cassandra came to our office to correct her “underbite” (underjet of lower incisors beyond upper incisors). The cause of this malocclusion was a disproportionately large and asymmetric lower jaw. To properly align the teeth and bring greater balance to the face, Dr. Wong prescribed orthognathic jaw surgery of the mandible and Invisalign clear aligners. Cassandra was an excellent patient, wearing aligners as prescribed in preparation of, and post, surgery. Her beautiful smile and face are testament to the benefit of excellent surgically-involved treatment.
Holland was thirteen when first seen by Dr. Wong. He arrived with dental crowding and a lower jaw that was significantly smaller than the upper, resulting in an “overbite” (excess overjet). Dr. Wong utilized facial growth patterns by employing a small, intraoral growth modification appliance, called Forsus, to enhance the lower jaw advancement and successfully complete the treatment without headgear—a relief to Holland!
Abby was ten when she came into our office. She arrived with upper incisor protrusion and, like Holland, had a small lower jaw relative to the upper. These combined to produce an “overbite” (excess overjet). Dr. Wong again worked with facial growth patterns, but this time utilized intraoral rubber bands to effect growth modification. Abby was an excellent patient, wearing her rubber bands when needed, and the entire treatment was complete—without headgear—in fourteen months!
Miguel arrived in our office with significant dental crowding and protrusion. After evaluation, Dr. Wong’s mission was to align Miguel’s teeth while achieving both a healthy positioning of the teeth in supporting bone and gums and a balanced facial aesthetic. To reach these goals, it was determined that extraction of four teeth (the upper and lower 1st bicuspids) was advisable. Traditional braces were then used to successfully complete Miguel’s treatment—resulting in a healthy, happy smile.
Shannon came to our office to correct relapse from orthodontic treatment received as a teenager. Dr. Wong employed Invisalign clear aligners to beautifully and efficiently treat the spacing that had developed over the years so that Shannon could have the radiant smile she desired!
Joy had received orthodontic treatment as a teen; however, she had recently experienced a biking accident that resulted in misalignments and an openbite. Joy expressed interest in Invisalign as a treatment modality and Dr. Wong successfully used the clear aligners to complete her case in 9 months without physiologic enhancement/acceleration such as Propel or Orthopulse. These enhancements, available in our office, would have resulted in an even shorter treatment time.
Cody arrived at our office at age ten with upper incisor protrusion and a small lower jaw, relative to the upper, resulting in an “overbite” (excess overjet). Like with Holland and Abby, Dr. Wong utilized facial growth patterns, but this time employed orthopedic expansion of the maxilla to bring about lateral development of the dental arches. The results were ideal, leaving Cody’s occlusion in a Class I relationship and his smile beautiful!
Chuma, one of many adult patients, arrived in our office with an anterior openbite and dental spacing. He was in search of an Invisalign solution to these aesthetic and functional problems and, we’re pleased to say, came to the right place! Using Invisalign aligners to intrude posterior teeth and close spaces, Dr. Wong completed this case in 14 months without extractions or surgery. Chuma is very happy with the results!
